Derick-Williamson

Bio

Derick has a solid background in competitive athletics and the training of endurance athletes. Derick competed in cross country and indoor/outdoor track during his undergraduate work and competed outside of school as an active cyclist and triathlete in the mountains of North Carolina. Derick comes to Source Endurance from Colorado Springs where he worked for four years as an endurance consultant and raced actively before moving to Austin to pursue his Master’s Degree in Sports Science and Nutrition at the University of Texas-Austin.

 

Over the past five plus years of working with athletes Derick has worked with every level of athlete from the first timer to Olympic trials qualifiers and World Champions. One of the most fulfilling experiences Derick has had was the opportunity to work with the USA National Paralympics Cycling Team as he learned a tremendous amount about approaches to training and coaching through these amazing athletes and fellow coaches.

 

Derick has given training talks and clinics at races such as Ironman Hawaii and Wildflower Triathlon as well as working one on one with athletes at race venues around the country. Through his own leadership and examples as well as the implementation of current sports science and experience Derick stands to guide athletes mentally, physically and emotionally toward the finish line of their dreams.

 

Derick remains an avid competitive cyclist & elite runner/triathlete having competed in long course, short course and Xterra racing all over the country as well as running and cycling events.
