Getting Retul'd
There are some new tools laying around Source Endurance. I had the pleasure of being somewhat the first test pilot for this new fitting system and it was pretty awesome. David Wenger hooked me up with led electrodes until I looked like a robot out of Star Wars and we tested! This machine is pretty crazy as it measure any hip rock, knee lateral movement and all the major angle that your body has on your bike while pedaling. My Mountain biker horrendous pedal stroke became very apparent during the first run of test. Once we got that all under control We switched around my position. I think what is super cool about this system is the ability to put conventional knowledge to the test. We all have the ability to read the articles from Andy Pruitt and co about bike fit, but using this we can put those theories in action and see how our bodies react to them.
Anyways, after a radical change to my Position on my road bike, David sent me out on a loop called Lime Creek. Being from Houston I was pretty much blown away at the Scenery and hills. Came back feeling better than ever about my bike position and can now scratch the excuse “my bike fit sucks” off of the* reasons why I sucked this race* list.
I hope some of you guys take a day out to get fit in this new system. I can see where it will lead to huge efficiency changes in endurance events as well as targeting any biking related discomfort you my have right now.
