Oh, to be back!
Hello everyone!! I’m back from having the flu for what seemed like FOREVER! I would like to thank my roommate Justin for puttin’ up with me and giving me lots of tea, haha. I would also like to thank the 3 Stories Racing team for being patient with me while I was out as I was kind of cranky and difficult due to the lack of training. For all athletes it is very hard to get through a period of time without training. I thought that I was out of shape and wasn’t going to be able to do the triathlon anymore. Yes, it was that bad…and I will be the first to admit that I was simply being ridiculous. Having the flu and being out was extremely painful and awful, but it’s all over and I’m back to training! And in a MUCH better mood. YAY!!
I have put together a couple good workouts and feel pretty good lately. I will start racing again this weekend at Lago Vista. There will be two races on Saturday followed by a single race Sunday morning. This will be great fun and help me gain a lot of experience in a short amount of time. After watching Derick Williamson of Source and Team Hump riders Justin Litchfield (20th) and Oleg Balter (10th) do extremely well in this past weekend’s Pace Bend race, I was ready to put on a show of my own. Unfortunately for Derick, he had a nasty spill at the line to take 2nd place and a crazy huge hole out of his leg! Nicely done Sir!
I would love to be swimming right now, but I have tweaked my shoulder recently and will just be running and riding for the next week as AJ (as in Dr. AJ Zelinski of Advanced Rehab) works his magic on this poor shoulder. This is what happens when a runner jumps in the pool at the UT Masters program and starts hammering workouts, haha. That’s ok…I’ll just have to get stronger and smarter. I’ve got plenty of time to get healthy before I open up the tri season and start crankin’ on this wonderful place called Austin, TEXAS!
I’ll see ya on the start line!
