Time at the Wind tunnel

SE athletes Paul Hurdlow, Rachel Gunn, Dan Lundeen, Steve Zinkgraf, David Kimmel, Adam Gaubert, and Drew Hill participated in the 3-day clinic hosted by Source Endurance an its staff (David Wenger, Derick Williamson, Brandon Marsh and Stefan Rothe) at the same wind tunnel where top level athletes like Damiano Cunego and Lance Armstrong have been tested on aerodynamics before. John Cobb, one of the leaders on aerodynamics in the bicycle and auto industry, was working on the optimal time trial positions for the SE athletes. Along with the mechanics of Jack & Adams Bicyles, the Texas A&M crew, and the TT-specific knowledge of the SE consultants it was possible for him to find the best aerodynamic position for each individual while making sure the power output ability of each rider would not be impacted. Next to optimizing positions on the Time Trial bike, the SE Staff also conducted a unique research on rolling resistance and a series of 5K time trials in order to maximize performance for its athletes. A full post-camp write-up with the detailed findings will be available soon here at Source Endurance. Thanks to John Cobb, all the athletes, and Jack & Adam for making this Time Trial Clinic a success. We are looking forward to host a similar type of clinic in the future, so stay tuned for updates over the next months.
