Nola Weekend

Well, this past weekend I decided to go home to New Orleans for a couple of reasons. The first reason was to see my good friend, Lauren, who is moving to New Jersey (don’t as me why Jersey). The second was to see my little bro(6) and sis(8) who start missing me pretty bad after about 6 weeks. They get excited to play “duathlon” up and down our block and to bike to the Lake. I got some completely flat riding and running in along our very own Lake Ponchatrain. Anyway, I had a great time playing tourist in my own city. I ate seafood gumbo (from R&O‘s Restaurant), po-boys, boiled crawfish, crawfish pasta (made by mom!), crabs, stuffed artichoke, and BENIGNS (Café du Monde) (my favorite)! (If Brandon is reading this then I at salads and chicken the whole time ;) I also got to hang with the parents in the French Quarter. I almost had to stay in the Quarter all night just to prove a point to Colt that “Yes, it stays open ALL night. No, nothing closes.” There were also some good times spent in the U.P.T. (uptown) with some old friends (The Columns and Monkey Hill). The trip as a whole was fun but I don’t know about that eight hour drive. I think that about did me in. I think I will try to limit my Nola trips to off season and holidays from now on! Its just TOO much fun.
