Bike Fit
Why Do You Need a Bike Fit?
A proper bike fit puts a rider in an optimal position for comfort and injury free riding. Proper bike fit also helps you to get the most power and aerodynamics out of your position based on what type of riding or competing you customarily engage it. With the combined experience of hundreds of bike fits on beginner to professional athletes we will work with your specific body type to ensure you get the most efficient position on your bike.
SE and Retül
Source Endurance is the only business in the region which uses the Retül Fit System in order to put a rider in the optimum position on their bike. Source Endurance fit technicians use a proprietary method of measuring limb length, gate, trunk length, and feet to place a rider in a comfortable yet powerful position. With the help of Retül Fit System 3D imagery is used to analyze hip, shoulder, knee and ankle movement and angles to ensure that a rider is in the best possible position that minimizes unnecessary movement on the bike. Asymmetry and oscillation are addressed down to the millimeter or degree of movement with instant feedback on how a rider adapts to changes in positioning.
SE Metabolic Fit
Source Endurance is the leader in bike fit technology and protocol. Through the use of Retul Fit and SRM Ergometer technology as well as years of experience and data analysis Source provides its clients with an unprecedented marriage between rider and machine.
Source Endurance is now maximizing this attention to detail and individualization through the implementation of oxygen uptake measurement relative to bike fit. As the only center in the US with the capability to perform this intricate analysis Source measures the oxygen uptake of riders at an absolute power output and then works to optimize their position for enhanced cycling economy (work performed vs. fuel consumed). Our goal is to work with each athlete’s own unique biomechanics and physiology to decrease the amount of oxygen utilized by the rider in their riding position while ensuring a comfortable and injury free fit. Each rider is fit to our SRM ergometer based on their current position, they are then measured for steady state oxygen consumption at given workloads using a research grade metabolic cart. SE consultants then utilize 3-D motion capture fit technology to set the rider up in an optimal position on the infinitely adjustable SRM Ergometer. The rider is then measured post fit for oxygen consumption at the same pre-fit workload. Source endurance consultants can then determine if the position is more economical and will thus provide the rider with greater performance at a decreased energy expenditure. This means you the athlete can go longer and harder before fatigue.

Get fitted like the Pro's
Thanks to the Retül Fit System, bike fits with Source Endurance are performed with the same level of expertise and knowledge like many Olympic and Elite level athletes have been fitted before. Two of the most accomplished time trialists in the world, David Zabriskie and David Millar (both Team Slipstream Sports/Chipotle H30), have been fitted recently using the exact same system like Source Endurance can offer at their office in Austin, TX.
